For close to two decades, Henry E. Vail II has been providing medical practitioners with wealth management advice through his Houston, Texas-based firm, Sucre-Vail Wealth Advisors. A prolific philanthropist, Henry Vail II is a member of the Planned Giving Council of Houston (PGCH).
PGCH offers an avenue for philanthropists interested in planned giving to widen their knowledge on charitable planned giving and the best practices to follow. One way the organization does this is through its unique mentorship program.
Consisting of a team of over 100 development officers from diverse nonprofits and an extensive team of veteran philanthropists drawn from multiple industries, the PGCH mentorship program matches senior members with new members in personalized interactions. These connections are established to provide training, guidance, and mentorship to new members on planned giving and fundraising. Senior mentors also provide technical advice on trusts, estate planning, and foundations.
The PGCH mentorship program runs for one year. The matches are designated by the PGCH Mentor Program Chair.
The mentors initiate contact with two phone conversations and a face-to-face meeting, after which the new members are responsible for continuing the relationship. The program is offered to PGCH members only.
